It has been reported that Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s cloud server unit was used in recent attacks on the Sony Network. Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Used In Sony Attack According to reports, Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s web service cloud-computing unit was used to attack Sony-Corporation’s Online Entertainment Systems. The attack was made by hackers using an alias, who rented a server through Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s EC2 service and led the attack from there. Drew Herdener, a spokesman for Seattle-based Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) declined to comment. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is involved and is investing the situation, and could theoretically seek a search warrant or subpoena for the online retail giant.
